Appalachian State claims 16th straight win against The Citadel
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP)—Ryann Abraham scored 13 points and Appalachian State beat The Citadel for the 16th straight time, winning 63-50 on Saturday.
Donte Minter added 11 points and 13 rebounds and had a second straight double-double for the Mountaineers (7-6, 2-2 Southern Conference), who shot 44 percent and held a 43-34 rebounding advantage in denying the Bulldogs their first victory in the series since 1996.
Tyrell McDowell had 15 points and Zach Urbanus added 12 on four 3-pointers for the cold-shooting Bulldogs (5-8, 0-4), who made just 29 percent of their shots and were 9-of-30 from beyond the arc.
Appalachian State has followed a season-worst three-game losing streak by winning four of five. The Citadel has lost five of seven since winning two in a row.
