Richardson’s big game leads Coastal Carolina past Susquehanna
CONWAY, S.C. (AP)—Everage Richardson matched a career high with 27 points to lead Coastal Carolina past Division III Susquehanna 83-72 on Saturday in the Chanticleers’ final nonconference game before the start of Big South play.
Phil Wallace added 17 points and 11 rebounds—his first double-double—for Coastal Carolina (6-6), which outrebounded Susquehanna 36-26, shot nearly 52 percent and made nine 3-pointers in its 20th straight out-of-league victory on its home court.
Richardson was 11-of-19 from the field in matching the 27 points he scored last month against North Carolina-Wilmington. Jack Leasure scored 13 points on 4-of-12 shooting for the Chanticleers, who led 35-27 at halftime.
Josh Robinson scored 20 points, Kevin Cuff added 18 and Brad Okonak had 12 for Susquehanna (4-7), which made just 33 percent of its shots in the first half.
