Scott leads Coll. of Charleston past Elon 78-65
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP)—Dustin Scott had 20 points and a career-high 13 rebounds to lead the College of Charleston past Elon 78-65 on Saturday night.
Jermaine Johnson added 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Cougars (7-7, 2-2 Southern Conference), which built an early 27-8 lead and sealed the victory by making 16 of 20 free throws in the second half.
Scott, who also had 20 points against South Carolina, had his second double-double of the season while Johnson’s was his seventh in his past nine games. Andrew Goudelock added 15 points for the College of Charleston.
Tony White Jr. matched a career high with 19 points and was 10-of-11 from the line.
Ola Atoyebi had 13 points and Brett James added 12 for the Phoenix (6-8, 4-2).
Charleston has won three of four, while Elon has dropped four of five.
