Oral Roberts scores all 9 OT points to beat Centenary, 71-62
SHREVEPORT, La. (AP)—Robert Jarvis had 19 points and Oral Roberts scored all nine points in overtime to beat Centenary 71-62 on Saturday.
Adam Liberty added 16 points for Oral Roberts (8-5, 3-0 Summit) and Marcus Lewis 11. Shawn King had a game-high eight rebounds for the Golden Eagles, which led 40-35 at halftime.
Nick Stallings had 23 points for the Gents (7-8, 1-2) and Tyrone Hamilton 20.
The Golden Eagles never led by more than nine points, and Centenary tied the game at 47- and 59-all.
With the score tied at 62-62 and 46 seconds left, Oral Roberts’ Yemi Ogunoye missed a pair of free throws. But the Gents were unable to get a good shot and Tyrone Hamilton missed an off-balance three-point attempt.
Centenary turned the ball over on four straight possessions in overtime and a season-high 26 times overall, leading to 29 points for the visitors.
