Francis scores 14 in Cleveland St.’s 63-55 win over Loyola

CLEVELAND (AP)—Kevin Francis scored 14 points to lead Cleveland State to a 63-55 win over Loyola of Chicago on Thursday night.

J’Nathan Bullock scored 12 and Cedric Jackson added 10 for the Vikings (9-5), who trailed 17-9 with 8:19 to go in the first half before going on a 15-2 run to take a 24-19 halftime lead, which Loyola was not able to overcome.

Darrin Williams scored 21 points to lead Loyola of Chicago (5-8), which shot only 37.3 percent, including just 15.8 percent from behind the 3-point line. J.R. Blount scored 12 points.

Cleveland State shot 41.7 percent overall.

The Vikings’ bench outscored Loyola’s reserves 24-6.
