Laing scores 27 to lead Seton Hall to victory
NEWARK, N.J. (AP)—Brian Laing Made his first 12 shots and finished with a game-high 27 points to lead Seton Hall to a 77-54 victory over Delaware State on Monday.
Jamar Nutter added 12 points for the Pirates (9-3), who made nearly 51 percent of their shots overall. Roy Bright had 24 points and a game-high seven rebounds for Delaware State (3-9).
Seton Hall was in command for most of the game, jumping out to an early lead and closing the first half with a 13-5 run to take a 41-23 lead at the break.
The Pirates also had a strong defensive performance, winning the battle of the boards 34-24 and holding Delaware State to just one basket over the final nine minutes in the first half.
Seton Hall continued its dominance in the second half, scoring the first five points and holding double-digit leads for most of the half.
