Wilson chips in 20 to help N. Arizona defeat N. Colorado

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP)—Josh Wilson tied a career high with 20 points and Kyle Landry recorded his sixth double-double of the season with 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead Northern Arizona to an 86-70 win over Northern Colorado in its Big Sky Conference opener on Sunday.

NAU (9-5, 1-0 Big Sky) led by as many as 12 points midway through the first half when UNC went on a 19-2 run thanks to multiple clutch 3-pointers from Neal Kingman and Jefferson Mason to take a 27-22 lead with 7:34 left.

NAU answered with a 19-4 run from the 1:17 mark of the first half through the 15:48 of the second and never looked back.

Kingman led UNC (6-7, 1-1) with 17 points. Mason had 14, while Sean Taibi had 13 and Jabril Banks 10.

Nate Geiser finished with 16 points for NAU. Zarko Comagic had 11 points, while Zach Filzen had 10. Ryan McCurdy had 11 rebounds for Northern Arizona.
