Wittman scores 23 points as Cornell beats Stony Brook 66-50

STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP)—Bryan Wittman scored 15 of his 23 points in the second half and Cornell beat Stony Brook 66-50 on Saturday.

Wittman was 5-of-10 from 3-point range while the Big Red (5-4) went 10-for-27 from behind the arc.

Adam Gore had 12 points for Cornell, with Alex Tyler adding 11 and Louis Dale 10. Mike Tyree topped the Seawolves (3-9) with 17 points.

Tyler’s jumper gave Cornell a 23-10 lead with 7:07 left in the first half. Tyree had seven points as the Seawolves closed the half with a run that put them within 25-22.

A layup by Eddie Castellanos got Stony Brook to 44-40 with 9:05 left, but the Big Red scored eight points, six on 3s by Gore, to lead 52-40 with 6:47 to play.
