Carter, Dugat lead Baylor past Prairie View A&M, 108-71
WACO, Texas (AP)—Tweety Carter scored 22 points and Henry Dugat had 20 to lead six Baylor players in double figures in a 108-71 victory against Prairie View A&M on Saturday night.
Carter and Dugat combined for nine 3-pointers for Baylor (10-1), which made a season-high 15 from 3-point range.
Curtis Jerrells added 16 points for the Bears, Aaron Bruce had 12 and Delbert Simpson and LaceDarius Dunn scored 10 each.
Aaron Smith scored 12 for Prairie View (2-10), and Derek Johnson had 11. Johnson was the only Panther to make more than three field goals.
Curtis and Carter scored 10 points each in the first half as Baylor led 50-31 at halftime. Prairie View trailed by just four at 21-17 with 10:09 left in the half before Carter and Bruce started and finished a 12-2 run with 3-pointers for a 33-19 Baylor lead with 6:22 to play.
Baylor held a 72-47 lead with 12:11 left in the game when a 3-pointer by Dunn sparked a 9-0 run that included a pair of inside baskets by Simpson and dunks by Jerrells and Kevin Rogers, who finished with nine points.
The Bears had season highs in points, assists (23) and steals (17).
