AUBURN, Ala. (AP)—Quan Prowell scored a game-high 25 points and Rasheem Barrett added 19 to lead Auburn past Towson 79-59 on Saturday.
Auburn (8-2) had a 40-26 lead at the half and also had 10 points from Matt Heramb.
Towson (4-7) had two players in doubles. Josh Thornton scored 11 and Rocky Coleman had 13.
Auburn shot 51.6 percent from the field in the half, hitting 16-of-31 shots, and held Towson to 10-of-31 shooting, for 32.3 percent. The Tigers also held a 23-14 edge on the glass, while forcing six turnovers.
Towson head coach Pat Kennedy said his team needed to execute better.
“That takes some time when you have as many new faces as we do,” Kennedy said.
Auburn head coach Jeff Lebo said Prowell played well.
“We were nice and quick to start off the game. They tried to use the three-point line against us, but we were able to hold them off,” Lebo said.
