Robinson leads Buffalo to 80-66 win over S.C.-Upstate
EL PASO, Texas (AP)—Andy Robinson scored a season-high 18 points, including four 3-pointers, as Buffalo beat South Carolina-Upstate 80-66 on Saturday.
Buffalo (6-5) overcame an early eight-point deficit to take the lead for good, 19-16, on a Robinson 3-pointer midway through the first half.
South Carolina-Upstate (2-10) pulled to within six with 3:12 left, but Buffalo’s Rodney Pierce scored nine of the Bulls’ final 11 points to preserve the victory.
Sean Smiley scored 14 and Pierce added 13 for the Bulls.
S.C.-Upstate’s Luke Payne scored 26 points while Bobby Davis scored 13.
