Nurse scores 18 to lead W. Illinois 66-54 over Kennesaw St.

MACOMB, Ill. (AP)—Sophomore David Nurse scored a game-high 18 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead Western Illinois in a 66-54 victory over Kennesaw State Saturday afternoon.

David Jackson added 16 points, Jerryck Owens-Murray had 13 and David DuBois chipped in 10 for the Leathernecks (4-7). Owens-Murray had 10 rebounds and four assists for Western Illinois, which led 40-25 at the half.

The Leathernecks shot 38-for-60 from the field, or about 63 percent. That compared with 29-for-67, or about 43 percent, for the Owls (2-8).

Shuan Stegall scored 14 points, Ronell Wooten had 11 and Jon-Michael Nickerson added 10 for the Owls.

Wooten had six rebounds and three 3-pointers for Kennesaw State.
