Tyndale hits winner, Temple beats E. Michigan 58-55
PHILADELPHIA (AP)—Mark Tyndale’s 3-point shot from the top of the key with 1.2 seconds left gave Temple a 58-55 victory over Eastern Michigan on Saturday.
Dionte Christmas had 22 points and 11 rebounds for the Owls (6-5), while Tyndale had eight of his 10 points in the second half.
Carlos Medlock had 19 points and Jesse Bunkley 15 for Eastern Michigan (4-5), which was playing its first game since Dec. 4.
Neither team had more than a three-point lead in the second half until Temple moved ahead 52-46 with 5:29 to play. After trailing 55-51, the Eagles tied the score on a layup by Medlock with 13 seconds left, but the Owls worked the ball to Tyndale, who hit the game-winner.
Temple led 21-13, the biggest lead for either team, with 7:48 in the first half, but Jerrod Axon and Bunkley hit successive 3-pointers to spark a 14-4 run and the Eagles took a 27-25 halftime advantage.
