Edwin Ubiles scores 22, leading Siena over Holy Cross 84-77
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP)—Edwin Ubiles scored 22 points after halftime helping Siena to an 84-77 overtime win over Holy Cross Saturday.
Siena led the entire second half, building a 10-point lead early, and holding a five-point advantage with 26 seconds remaining. But Holy Cross center Tim Clifford connected on two 3-pointers in the final 12 seconds of regulation.
The second make bounced high off the front rim and fell as the buzzer sounded, sending the game to overtime.
The Saints (6-3) controlled the extra session, holding the Crusaders (7-2) without a field goal until Clifford converted a lay up with 1:15 to go.
Clifford led Holy Cross, which 43.5 percent overall, with 26 points.
