Wilson and Pleiman lead Wright St. past Cal St.-Fullerton 84-80
FULLERTON, Calif. (AP)—Scottie Wilson and Jordan Pleiman each scored season highs of 19 points as Wright State rallied for an 84-80 victory over Cal State Fullerton on Saturday.
Todd Brown added 16 points and Vaughn Duggins had 12 points and eight assists for the Raiders (6-3), who have won three consecutive games and four of five.
Josh Akognon scored 23 points and Frank Robinson had 22 points for the Titans (6-3), who lost for the first time at home this season.
Wilson scored five points during a 12-7 run that Wright State used to break a 69-69 tie and take an 81-76 lead with 25 seconds to play. Will Graham added four points during the run, and Fullerton scored just two in a span of 2:11.
The Titans’ Marcus Morgan missed a free throw with 17.1 seconds left that would have narrowed the deficit to two.
Fullerton’s Marcus Crenshaw grabbed the rebound but missed a baseline jump shot. Pleiman got the rebound, was fouled by Robinson and made two free throws with 10.4 seconds left to extend the Raiders’ lead to 83-78.
The Raiders shot a season-best 56.9 percent.
