Hines’ double-double leads North Carolina-Greensboro over Fordham, 58-54
NEW YORK (AP)—Kyle Hines had 18 points and 10 rebounds as North Carolina-Greensboro held off Fordham 58-54 on Saturday.
Kevin Olesiak added 11 points for the Spartans (5-4), including their last four points of the game after Fordham had closed within 54-52.
Benton Butler had 15 points and Bryant Dunston added 10 for the Rams (5-5).
Hines had two layups in the Spartans’ 11-1 run to open the second half that gave them the biggest lead of the game, 41-29, with 16:30 to play.
A layup by Hines gave Greensboro a 52-45 lead with 6:11 left, but Fordham went on a 7-2 run that included two layups by Sebastian Greene to get within two.
Olesiak’s three-point play with 1:56 left made it 57-52. Greene made two free throws with 1:01 to go, but Olesiak added a free throw for the final margin.
