Cleveland State’s 3s bury Central Michigan
CLEVELAND (AP)—J’Nathan Bullock scored 19 points and Cleveland State made 8 of 15 3-point attempts as the Vikings beat Central Michigan 86-70 on Saturday.
Cleveland State (8-4) shot 53 percent from the field, while limiting the Chippewas (4-7) to 39 percent.
After Bullock’s 3-pointer gave Cleveland State a 20-11 lead, the Chippewas went on a 13-7 run to cut the lead to 27-24 with 2:26 to play in the half.
However, the Vikings came back on Joe Davis’ jumper and consecutive 3-pointers from Cedric Jackson and led 35-28 at halftime. Cleveland State opened the second half with a 7-0 run to put the game out of reach.
Davis added 14 points and Jackson added 12 for Cleveland State.
Central Michigan’s Nate Minnoy also had 19 points and added eight rebounds, while Jeremy Allen had 13 points.
