Maynor scores 30 to lead Virginia Commonwealth to a 79-64 win over Bradley
PEORIA, Ill. (AP)—Eric Maynor scored 30 points to lead Virginia Commonwealth past Bradley 79-64 on Saturday night at Carver Arena.
Jamal Shuler added 13 points for the Rams (8-3), and Michael Anderson chipped in 10.
Bradly (7-5) led by as many as nine points in the first half, but VCU clawed its way back and took a 36-34 advantage into halftime. In the second half, Virginia Commonwealth’s biggest lead was 17 points.
The 15-point margin of defeat was Bradley’s worst home-game loss since it fell 74-65 to Creighton on Jan. 26, 2005.
Bradley’s standout guard Daniel Ruffin sat out the second half after aggravating an abdominal strain.
Andrew Warren was the top scorer for the Braves with 18 points. Jeremy Crouch had 13 and Theron Wilson added 12 points. Ruffin had 4 points in his 12 minutes of play.
