Northern Iowa takes 64-60 win over UMKC in overtime
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP)—Jared Josten scored five of his 14 points in overtime to lead Northern Iowa to a 64-60 nonconference win over Missouri-Kansas City on Wednesday night.
The Panthers (8-2) led 29-20 at halftime and were up 40-29 with 12:07 left in the game before UMKC rallied to take a 50-48 lead on a 15-foot jumper by Dane Brumagin with 3:52 left.
Eric Coleman tied the game with 38 seconds left on a pair of free throws, then neither team could get off a shot before the end of regulation.
Jordan Eglseder, a 7-foot-1 center, led the Panthers with 19 points, and Coleman finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Tim Blackwell paced the Kangaroos (4-8) with 21 points, while Brumagin and Reggie Hamilton added 12 points each.
