15 points by Edwards leads Trojans to 70-65 win over Pepperdine
LITTLE ROCK (AP)—Shane Edwards led an aggressive Arkansas-Little Rock to a 70-65 win Tuesday night over Pepperdine with 15 points and three steals.
The Trojans (9-1) got 22 points off turnovers and 10 on fast breaks to stay on top in a close contest that saw UALR leading only 28-26 at the half. UALR hit just 31 percent of its shots from the field in the first half, but more than doubled its scoring percentage to 68 after intermission.
Malcolm Thomas of Pepperdine (5-8) topped all scorers with 18 points and was also credited with 12 rebounds. Rico Tucker and Daniel Johnson added 10 points each for the Wave.
The Trojans also had two players besides their top scorer in double digits— Terrance Akins and Mike Smith with 11 points each.
