Crenshaw’s 17 points lead Fullerton to 99-63 victory over Southern Utah
FULLERTON, Calif. (AP)—Marcus Crenshaw had 17 points and eight assists to lead Cal State Fullerton in a 99-63 rout of Southern Utah on Monday night.
Josh Akognon added 16 points and Scott Cutley had 15 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and four steals for the Titans (5-2). Cutley needed two assists to become the second player in school history to record a triple-double.
Geoff Payne scored 18 points and Nurudeen Adepoju added 11 for the Thunderbirds (2-9), who have lost eight of nine.
Southern Utah led 24-21 before Akognon scored 14 points in a 23-6 run that put Fullerton ahead 44-28 with 1:14 left in the first half.
The Titans began the second half by making nine of their first 10 shots and extended their lead to 66-42 with 12:55 to play.
Ralphy Holmes had 14 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists for Fullerton against Cal State Northridge in the 2004-05 season for the school’s only triple-double.
