Louisiana-Lafayette clips Louisiana Monroe 68-67
MONROE, La. (AP)—Chris Gradnigo hit a three-pointer with eight seconds left to lift Louisiana-Lafayette to a 68-67 win Sunday over Louisiana-Monroe in a Sun Belt Conference game.
Gradnigo, who had 15 points, gave the Ragin’ Cajuns their first lead of the game with a three-point shot with 43 seconds left before hitting his game winner and snapping a six-game losing streak for Louisiana-Lafayette (2-6, 1-0).
Trailing by nine at halftime, Louisiana-Lafayette hit 9 of 14 three-point attempts in the second half.
La’Ryan Gary and Randell Daigle each had 12 points for the Cajuns.
Louisiana-Monroe’s Jordan Payne was the game’s top scorer with 16 points, while Lance Brasher added 13, along with 10 rebounds for the Warhawks (4-6, 0-1).
