Wedel leads Arkansas State past winless Ball State, 57-47

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP)—Ryan Wedel scored 13 points, and Yima Chia-Kur added 11 to help Arkansas State beat winless Ball State 57-47 on Sunday.

Arkansas State (4-5) has won fourth straight at home and 13 of its last 15 games at the Convocation Center.

Brandon Lampley led Ball State (0-9) with 13 points, and Peyton Stovall added 12.

The Indians broke the game open with a 22-5 run, taking a 22-11 lead on Kewain Gant’s three-point play with 8:39 remaining in the first half.

Ball State cut it to seven at 32-25 at the half and to 41-39 midway through the second half before Arkansas State pulled away for good.
