Brown’s 3-pointer at buzzer gives Wright St. 58-57 win over Miami
FAIRBORN, Ohio (AP)—Todd Brown’s 3-pointer with less than a second remaining gave Wright State its only lead of the game and a 58-57 win over Miami of Ohio Saturday night.
Troy Tabler scored 14 points and Jordan Pleiman had 13 for the Raiders (4-3), who overcame a 16-point halftime deficit partly by making a 14-3 run in the second half to cut Miami’s lead to 53-51 with five minutes to play.
The Raiders stayed close and tied it at 55 on Vaughn Duggins’ two free throws with 1:47 left. Miami’s Kenny Hayes then made a jumper with five seconds left to put the RedHawks up by two.
But Wright State stormed down the court and Brown got his winning shot off before the buzzer.
Miami (4-4) looked ready to cruise in the first half, shooting close to 74 percent and making six of nine 3-pointers. But the RedHawks shot just 23.8 percent in the second.
Tim Pollitz led Miami with 15 points.
