Tulsa routs Texas-Pan American
TULSA, Okla. (AP)—Brett McDade scored 14 points and Rod Earls added 13 to lead Tulsa to a 90-61 victory over Texas-Pan American on Saturday.
Earls entered the game shooting 28.6 percent and McDade 27.3, but the two combined to make 12 of 19 field goals as the Golden Hurricane (4-4) reached a season-high of 65.5 percent shooting.
Tulsa came into the game shooting 40.1 percent as a team, attributed largely to the struggles of McDade and Earls.
McDade hit 6-of-8 field goals and dished out five assists. Earls went inside for five of his six baskets.
Nathan Hawkins led the Broncs (6-6) with 18 points and Zach Trader added 12. Leading scorer Brian Burrell was held to seven points.
Tulsa closed the half on an 11-4 run that included an acrobatic drive by Uzoh, who contributed 13, the majority of those on three late 3-pointers after the outcome was long decided.
Bishop Wheatley hit a 17-foot jumper and freshman guard Glenn Andrews sank a 3-pointer with one second left.
The Golden Hurricane led 43-25 at intermission.
