Kent sparks first half run to lead Toledo past Drexel 57-44
TOLEDO, Ohio (AP)—Tyrone Kent scored 14 points and helped spark a 19-2 first-half run to lead Toledo to a 57-44 victory over Drexel on Saturday night.
Kent’s 3-point basket with 13:33 left in the first half gave the Rockets a 10-6 lead and they never trailed after that. Toledo (2-7) expanded its lead to 26-8 on a 3-pointer from Anthony Byrd with 7:29 left in the half.
Drexel (5-4) pulled to 55-44 on Frank Elegar’s jumper with 1:39 left but didn’t score again.
Jerrah Young scored 12 points and added 10 rebounds for the Rockets, while Jonathan Amos had 11 points and Ridley Johnson had 10.
Elegar led the Dragons with 12 points—the only player to score in double figures. He also had 8 rebounds.
