Balanced attack leads TCU past Texas Southern 83-59

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP)—Kevin Langford had 15 points and six rebounds to lead TCU past Texas Southern 83-59 Saturday.

Brent Hackett had 13 points, including consecutive 3-pointers during a 10-0 run that put the Horned Frogs (5-3) in front 26-12 with 7:46 left in the first half. John Ortiz scored four of his nine points during the spurt, and he had seven rebounds.

Sollie Norwood had 22 points and seven rebounds to lead the Tigers (1-5), but he also had seven of Texas Southern’s 25 turnovers. TCU had 39 points off turnovers to just six for the Tigers.

TCU’s other double-figure scorer was Henry Salter with 14, and Ryan Wall scored all nine of his points on 3-of-4 shooting from 3-point range.

Leading 43-29 at halftime, the Horned Frogs went on a 9-3 run in the first four minutes of the second half for a 52-32 lead. Texas Southern didn’t get closer than 16 after that.
