Loyola of Chicago defeats Wis.-Milwaukee 73-68 in overtime
CHICAGO (AP)—Forward Leon Young had 21 points and 14 rebounds as Loyola of Chicago beat Wisconsin-Milwaukee 73-68 in overtime Saturday night.
Loyola (3-5, 1-1) took a 38-27 lead early in the second half, but the Panthers fought back, taking a 46-45 lead when Ricky Franklin converted a 3-point play with 4:36 left.
The Panthers (3-6, 0-2) expanded the lead to 54-50, but J.R. Blount hit four free throws and Tracy Robinson converted a tip-in with a second left to send the game into overtime at 56-56.
Young opened overtime with a 3-point play and the Ramblers never trailed after that.
Torre Johnson led Wisconsin-Milwaukee with 19 points, while Paige Paulsen added 17.
Blount had 20 points for Loyola and Robinson added 18.
