William & Mary defeat North Florida 68-45
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP)—Danny Sumner and Nathan Mann each scored 12 points to lead William & Mary to a 68-45 win over North Florida Friday night.
Mann scored the game’s first eight points as William & Mary never trailed in the game. North Florida matched those eight points with an 8-point run for its only tie in the game but the visitors went on an 18-2 run to open up a 26-10 lead. The Tribe led 36-23 at halftime.
North Florida (1-6) continued to have problems shooting from the field, hitting just 28 percent of its field goals. The Ospreys managed just 3-of-21 from beyond 3-point range and committed 16 turnovers in the game.
William & Mary (2-5) pulled away in the second half and led by as many as 25 points in the last 20 minutes. Laimis Kisielius was the third player in double digits with 11 points.
Tom Hammonds led three Ospreys in double figures with 13 points while Justin Cecil and DeVon Jones added 10 each.
