PHILADELPHIA (AP)—Dionte Christmas had 16 points and 11 rebounds while Lavoy Allen tied his career high with 14 points as Temple breezed past Towson 69-46 on Thursday night.

Mark Tyndale added 12 points and 14 rebounds while Ryan Brooks contributed 10 for the Owls (4-4), who won for the fourth time in their last five games.

Rocky Coleman scored 15 points for the Tigers, who fell to 3-5 and lost their third in a row.

Temple led 32-17 at halftime and extended its lead to as many as 27 points, 62-35, on a basket by Allen with 4:39 remaining.

Towson never got within single digits in the second half and struggled mightily with its shooting. It hit just 13-of-56 (23 percent) from the field, including 4-of-21 from 3-point territory.

Meanwhile, the Owls hit 24-of-47 shots (51 percent) and outrebounded Towson 39-33.

After the Tigers cut the lead to 13 at 46-33, Temple put the game away with a 16-2 run anchored by Allen and Brooks, who had four points each.
