Roemer’s 21 points lead Colgate over Binghamton, 73-55
VESTAL, N.Y. (AP)—Kyle Roemer scored 21 points to lead Colgate to a 73-55 non-conference win over Binghamton Wednesday night.
The Raiders (6-3) won for the sixth time in seven games against the Bearcats (1-7).
Kendall Chones had 15 points and eight rebounds for Colgate, Tim Pounds had 14 points, and Daniel Waddy scored 10.
Binghamton’s Richard Forbes had a game-high 23 points, and Mike Gordon had 10.
Colgate’s Alex Woodhouse grabbed a game-high eight rebounds and blocked five shots.
Binghamton scored the first basket of the second half to tie the game at 31-31 before Colgate answered with five straight points to take the lead for good. Roemer?s 3-pointer and Peter Minchella’s layup gave the Raiders the lead.
Colgate led by 17 points with 5:45 remaining. The closest the Bearcats would come the rest of the way was 11 points.
Colgate shot 52 percent from the field and made 17-of-24 free throws, while Binghamton was held to 33 percent shooting. The Raiders out-rebounded the home team, 36-31.
