Division II Tusculum upsets Elon 74-60
ELON, N.C. (AP)—Kyle Moore scored 23 points and Division II Tusculum made 13 3-pointers in a 74-60 victory over Elon on Wednesday night.
Jordan Lear added 18 points and Jimmy Boone scored 13 for Tusculum (3-4), which has won three of four but beat a Division I opponent for the first time this season.
The Pioneers used sharp shooting to upset the Phoenix (4-4), making 48.9 percent of their attempts from the field and hitting 13 of 21 shots from 3-point range.
Ola Atoyebi had 25 points and 13 rebounds to lead Elon, which made just 3 of 21 attempts from beyond the arc and shot 37.7 percent.
Chris Long had 18 points and Devan Carter added 11 off the bench for the Phoenix, who were denied their first 5-0 start at home since 1999, their first season in Division I.
Tusculum led 39-22 at halftime.
