W. Illinois comes from behind to beat Texas-Pan American 71-69
EDINGBURG, Texas (AP)—David Jackson scored a game-high 22 points, including the go-ahead jumper with 1:26 remaining, as Western Illinois came from behind to beat Texas-Pan American 71-69 on Monday night.
Brian Burrell’s jumper with three minutes left gave Texas-Pan American a 64-59 lead, but Jackson scored eight points to lead a 10-0 run by Western Illinois (3-5) over the next two minutes.
Josh Rivers came off the bench to score 15 points for Western Illinois, while David DuBois led the team with nine rebounds.
Dexter Shankle led Texas-Pan American (5-4) with 17 points, while Zach Trader added 15 and Burrell had 11. Burrell led the team with eight rebounds.
Western Illinois shot 47 percent from the field to Pan American’s 48 percent.
Pan American led 37-30 at halftime.
