Chappell, Robert Morris beat Fordham 72-66
NEW YORK (AP)—Jeremy Chappell scored a game-high 25 points to lead Robert Morris to a 72-66 win over Fordham on Sunday.
Jimmy Langhurst had 12 points, seven steals and six assists for the Colonials (5-2).
Bryant Dunston paced the Rams (3-4) with 15 points, seven rebounds and five blocked shots. Brenton Butler scored 14 points while Sebastien Greene had 12 and a game-high 11 rebounds.
There were 15 lead changes before Butler’s 3-pointer gave Fordham a 60-59 edge at 7:13.
A.J. Jackson’s jumper and Bateko Francisco’s 3-pointer highlighted a 7-1 surge that put the Colonials in command, 66-61, with 4:14 to go.
Fordham pulled to 68-66 on Dunston’s layup with 1:23 to play.
The score was tied at 37 at halftime.
