Flagler leads S.C. State past Winston-Salem State in OT

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP)—Jason Flagler scored 16 points and made the go-ahead layup in overtime to lead South Carolina State to a 74-70 win over Winston-Salem State on Saturday.

Flagler’s bucket with 2:50 left made it 68-66. The Bulldogs then hit six free throws, the final two by Jessie Burton with 4 seconds left that put it away.

Chris Williams-Miller added 14 points for South Carolina State (2-5), including a turnaround jumper with 18 seconds left in regulation that tied it. Everett Spencer had 10 points and 14 rebounds for the Bulldogs, who overcame 25 turnovers.

Jamal Durham scored 19 points and Brian Fisher had 18 for the Rams (1-5), but missed a shot that would have won it at the end of regulation.

Winston-Salem State made only 4 of 17 3-pointers and missed 14 free throws.
