LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. (AP)—Harris Mansell hit eight free throws in the final minute of play as Rider held off Binghamton 81-73 on Saturday.
Mansell finished with 23 points for the Broncs (5-3), while Jason Thompson had 15 points and 11 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season. Richard Forbes had 23 points for Binghamton (1-6), while Lazar Trifunovic had 14 points and eight rebounds.
Rider appeared to be in command when it went on a 15-2 run midway through the second half, but the Bearcats fought back and used an 8-0 run to cut the lead to 66-58 with just over four minutes left to play.
Binghamton eventually cut the deficit to 71-67 on Forbes’ layup with 1:12 remaining, but the Broncs then sealed the win by going 10-for-10 from the free throw line.
