Johnathon Jones leads Oakland to 90-80 win over Bowling Green
ROCHESTER, Mich. (AP)—Oakland sophomore Johnathon Jones scored a career-high 31 points, including 24 in the second half, to lead the Golden Grizzlies to a 90-80 win over Bowling Green on Saturday.
Derick Nelson and Erik Kangas each added 11 points for Oakland (3-4).
Chris Knight scored 23 points, Nate Miller had 21, Darryl Clements added 13 and Ryne Hamblet scored 11 for the Falcons (4-3).
Bowling Green led for much of the game, including 37-34 at the half. Clements and Knight both reached double figures before halftime.
But after trailing by as many as eight, Oakland rallied in the second half. Jones made two jumpers and then hit two consecutive 3-pointers in the first five minutes, giving Oakland a 49-45 lead with 15 minutes left.
Oakland took control during the last six minutes, finishing on a 24-15 run.
