Blackwood leads Cent Connecticut to 10-point win over Lehigh
NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP)—Tristan Blackwood had a season-high 25 points to lead Central Connecticut to a 65-55 victory over Lehigh on Saturday afternoon.
The Blue Devils (2-5) used a 9-2 run with less than eight minutes left to go to pull away. Blackwood started the spurt by hitting a 3-pointer with 7:29 left that made it 46-41 Blue Devils. Joe Seymore buried a jumper to make it 53-43 with 4:56 to go.
Ken Horton scored 12 points and blocked a shot in the final minute to help seal the win.
Marquis Hall and Zahir Carrington each scored 13 for Lehigh (3-5).
Lehigh had opened the second half on a 9-1 run, that gave them a 33-30 lead, but Central answered by scoring 10 of the next 12 points.
