Harvey’s 20 leads unbeaten Seton Hall over Princeton 65-55
PRINCETON, N.J. (AP)—Eugene Harvey scored 20 points as Seton Hall took a 65-55 win over Princeton Wednesday night, giving the Pirates their best start in 19 seasons.
Brian Laing added 14 points, nine rebounds and four assists and Paul Gause had 12 second-half points for the Pirates, who are 6-0 for the first time since the 1988-89 Final Four team started 13-0.
The Tigers (2-4), losers of four straight, got 15 apiece from Noah Savage and Kyle Koncz and 14 points and 11 rebounds from Zach Finley.
Seton Hall never trailed, and despite going 4-of-15 from 3-point range, shot 53.3 percent from the field.
After Princeton tied the game at 2-2, Larry Davis hit a jumper and the Pirates led the rest of the way. Seton Hall let a 23-15 advantage slip to 23-21, but Laing scored the final six points in an 8-0 run as the Pirates took a 10-point lead at halftime.
Princeton never got closer than eight in the second half. The Tigers went 5:16 without a point in allowing Seton Hall to take a 40-24 lead.
