Butler sets 3-pointer record as Ohio State rolls over VMI
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP)—Jamar Butler set the Ohio State career record for 3-pointers made and Kosta Koufos recorded his first career double-double as the Buckeyes rolled over VMI with a 90-57 victory Sunday night.
Butler has now made 157 3-pointers after making four of eight Sunday to score 12 points for the Buckeyes.
Three other Ohio State players reached double figures in the win. David Lighty scored 11 and Matt Terwilliger and Evan Turner each scored 10 points for the Buckeyes (4-1).
Koufos had 22 points and 14 rebounds for Ohio State, which shot 52 percent from the field.
The Buckeyes outrebounded VMI 55-31 and outscored the Keydets 22-2 at the foul line.
Reggie Williams led VMI with 17 points. The keydets shot only 30 percent from the field.
