Devon Austin has 20 points and 11 rebounds to help Manhattan rally past St. Francis
NEW YORK (AP)—Devon Austin had 20 points and 11 rebounds and Manhattan overcame an eight-point second-half deficit to defeat St. Francis (N.Y.) 77-69 on Saturday night.
Antoine Pearson added 10 points and Jamel Ferguson and Rashad Green had nine apiece for the Jaspers (3-2).
Marcus Williams scored 18 points, Robert Hines 16 and Jamaal Womack 12 for the visiting Terriers (2-3).
Hines and Williams each scored nine points in helping St. Francis to a 35-32 halftime lead.
The Terriers led by as much as 54-46 after Hines scored with 12:52 left in the game.
Austin’s basket at 8:10 capped a 12-3 scoring run that propelled Manhattan to a 58-57 lead.
Austin hit a 3-point field goal to increase the advantage to 69-61 with 5:06 remaining.
