Curry’s 16 leads Davidson to victory over NC Central
DAVIDSON, N.C. (AP)—Stephen Curry scored a game-high 16 points to lead five players in double figures as Davidson cruised to a 98-50 victory over North Carolina Central Saturday.
Thomas Sander and Stephen Rossiter had 13 points for Davidson (2-2), which snapped a two-game losing streak, while Bryant Barr scored 12 and William Archambault scored 10. Rossiter also had 10 rebounds for his first career double-double.
Senior Jason Richards had a game-high 10 assists.
Bryan Ayala led North Carolina Central (1-6) with 13 points. N.C. Central was held to 36 percent shooting from the field.
The Wildcats forced 27 turnovers and turned them into 24 points. Davidson also turned 25 offensive rebounds into 20 second-chance points.
Davidson jumped out to a 12-2 lead 3:50 into the game as Curry and Richards opened the contest with consecutive 3-pointers. A Barr 3-pointer from the corner increased the margin to 24-10 with 11:20 left in the half. The margin grew to as many as 20 in the first half, and Davidson led by as much as 48 points in the second half.
