Jackson leads Cleveland St. to 67-57 win over John Carroll

CLEVELAND (AP)—Cedric Jackson scored 12 points to lead Cleveland State to a 67-57 win over John Carroll in the Vikings’ home opener on Saturday.

Up 33-30 early in the second half, D’Aundray Brown scored six of his eight points during a 20-8 run that gave the Vikings a 53-38 lead with 12:39 left.

J’Nathan Bullock and Joe Davis each scored 10 points for the Vikings (4-2), who had opened the season by playing five games on the road during a 10-day span.

Terry Walsh scored 18 points and Rudy Kirbus added 16 for John Carroll (2-1).

Cleveland State shot 43 percent for the game, while John Carroll shot 37 percent and committed 21 turnovers.
