Brown lifts Loyola over Howard, 73-58 in Philly Classic

PHILADELPHIA (AP)— Gerald Brown scored 33 points to lead Loyola to a 73-58 win over Howard in the Philly Classic on Friday.

Brown shot 9-of-19 from the field and 13-of-14 at the line for Loyola (4-2) and led all scorers. Eugene Myatt had 17 points and seven rebounds for Howard (2-3).

Loyola led 36-25 at the break.

In the second half, Loyola put the game away by converting 12 of 13 chances at the free-throw line to extend the lead.

Howard was just 2-of-13 from behind the 3-point arc and committed 18 turnovers in the loss.
