3s lead Coastal Carolina to 85-45 win over Anderson, S.C.
CONWAY, S.C. (AP)—Everage Richardson scored 17 points and Anthony Breeze added 15 points to help Coastal Carolina to a 85-45 win over Anderson, S.C., on Wednesday night.
The Chanticleers (3-2) hit 3-pointers on three of their four possessions and never trailed against the Division II Trojans (1-2).
Coastal Carolina led 23-8 midway through the first half, but had just a 14-point lead at halftime. Brandon Young hit a 3-pointer for Anderson to cut the deficit to 11 a minute into the second half, but the Trojans would get no closer.
The Chanticleers biggest lead was 85-42 with a minute to go.
Coastal Carolina made 11-of-26 3-pointers, while Anderson shot 4-of-17 behind the arc. The Chanticleers shot 54 percent (34-of-63) from the field, compared to 31 percent (18-of-58) for the Trojans.
Steven Sexton and Jack Leasure each added 12 points for Coastal Carolina.
Young led Anderson with 13 points.
