Moore leads Northwestern to 95-63 rout of Benedictine
EVANSTON, Ill. (AP)—Craig Moore had 19 points, seven rebounds and four assists to lead Northwestern to a 95-63 rout over Division III Benedictine on Tuesday night.
Jason Okrzesik had a career-high 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting for the Wildcats (1-2). Freshman Mike Capocci added a career-high 12 points and six assists as the Wildcats hit 61 percent of their shots and were 10-for-23 on 3-pointers.
Dan Klecan scored a season-high 22 and hit six 3-point shots for Benedictine (1-2), which never led.
Antonio Brooks had a career-high 13 points off the bench for the Eagles. Jared Bailey added seven points and a career-best 10 assists.
Northwestern started strong and took a 18-3 lead on Okrzesik’s 3-pointer with 12:46 left in the first half.
Northwestern opened the second half on a 16-3 run and took the biggest lead of the game, 79-40, with 9:59 remaining. The Wildcats led 52-30 at halftime.
The teams combined to hit 18 3-pointers in the first half.
