Kreefer’s 21 points fuel Cornell over Army, 93-78
ITHACA, N.Y. (AP)—Brian Kreefer scored 21 points to help Cornell pull away from a hot-shooting Army team as the Big Red beat the Black Knights 93-78 Tuesday.
Cornell (2-1) went on a 17-4 run early in the second half and opened the game up late behind five double-figure scorers. Louis Dale had 17 points and seven assists, Ryan Wittman had 16 points and seven rebounds, Collin Robinson scored 16 points and Adam Gore added 10.
The Big Red hit 31 of 38 free throws, including 20 of 23 after halftime.
Army (1-3) was led by Jarell Brown’s 30 points and Josh Miller’s 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists. The Black Knights shot 50 percent for the game but turned the ball over 23 times and were outrebounded 31-28.
