Brown leads Wright State past Coastal Carolina, 71-48
FAIRBORN, Ohio (AP)—Todd Brown scored 20 points, including 16 during a decisive 23-2 run, to spur Wright State to a 71-48 win over Coastal Carolina on Monday night.
Wright State (1-0) trailed the Chanticleers by four with 7:25 left in the first half. Brown made a 3-pointer, a jumper and another 3-pointer over the next minute to put the Raiders in front for good.
Brown made two more 3-pointers during the scoring run, which closed the half and gave Wright State a 38-21 lead at intermission.
Coastal Carolina (2-2) didn’t get closer than 15 the rest of the way. Jack Leasure scored 13 points and Joseph Harris had 12 for the Chanticleers.
Vaughn Duggins scored 16 and had six rebounds, and Scottie Wilson added 14 points for Wright State.
