Johnson, Wilson lead N. Arizona to 65-56 win over MVSU

ITTA BENA, Miss. (AP)—Matt Johnson had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Northern Arizona hit 80 percent of its shots in the first half to beat Mississippi Valley State 65-56 on Monday.

Josh Wilson had 17 points, eight rebounds and five assists for the Lumberjacks (3-1), who won their second straight game. It was Johnson’s first career double-double.

Zarko Comagic added 12 points for Northern Arizona, which hit 12 of 15 field goals in the first half on the way to a 33-25 halftime lead. The Lumberjacks finished shooting 61 percent and outrebounded the Delta Devils (0-4) 37-22.

Eric Petty led MVSU with 17 points and seven rebounds and Carl Lucas added 14 points.
