Barrett scores 25 in Auburn’s 89-59 win over Charleston Southern
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP)—Rasheem Barrett scored 25 points and Korvotney Barber added 15 points and seven rebounds to lead Auburn to a 89-59 win over Charleston Southern on Monday night.
The Tigers (3-1) trailed 5-4 two minutes in, but went on a 46-11 run over the next 15 minutes and led by at least 20 points the rest of the way.
The run started with a couple of free throws by Barber and ended with a 3-pointer by Larry Williams.
Auburn shot 58.3 percent (21-of-36) in the first half, while holding the Buccaneers to 22.2 percent (8-of-36).
Charleston Southern (2-2) turned the ball over 23 times, 16 of them on Auburn steals.
Lucas Hargrove scored 12 points and had seven rebounds, while DeWayne Reed and Frank Tolbert each had 11 points for the Tigers.
Omar Carter led Charleston Southern with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Giedrius Knysas added 13 points and Chris Moore scored 11 for the Buccaneers.
